Google-Like Word Searches of Medical Records May Boost Patient Safety!
"Google-like searches of hospital medical records using English words and phrases found more patient injuries than the numerical billing codes used to rate quality of care, pointing toward a better way to highlight safety issues, a study found. Researchers from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs reviewing patient records at six VA medical centers turned up 12 times as many cases of pneumonia and twice as many incidents of kidney failure and sepsis, a blood infection, when they used text searches instead of numeric codes linked to reimbursements. The vast majority of Clinical information is stored/created as free-text (Unstructured Data) through dictation or manual input. Using CHRRP (Clinical Hyper-Review and Reporting Platform) you can now extract Clinical Quality Measures (CQM), Core Measures and improve the way you use and re-use clinical documentation.

Now you can efficiently extract, use and re-use critical healthcare related information that would essentially be ignored. By processing unstructured medical documents through our patented CHRRP Natural Language Processer, we will create structured data that can be used for search, coding, indexing, XML exporting and extraction of critical information for database integration.
By using CHRRP NLP for mining documentation, healthcare organizations will be able to better analyze clincal narratives to enhance patient care.
As part of meaningful use, hospitals must demonstrate that they can capture discrete data elements, until now healthcare providers were not able to accomplish this when much of the information is dictated in an unstructured narrative format.
Traditionally, healthcare is known for its vast amounts of unstructured text based clinical information. By implementing Natural Language Processing, providers can save, index and extract valuable amounts of information without spending a lot of time and energy pointing and clicking. An additional benefit of NLP is increased patient safety. The computer generated knowledge and facts based on text analysis, decreases the margin for human error.
Whether they are typed, dictated or scanned in from paper directly into our MScript360 suite of modules or extracted from a 3rd party vendor application. An NLP engine can automatically index documents, extract clinical keywords and medical facts to incorporate into a patient chart, generate reports for compliance and more!

MScript360 offers an end to end solution for information capture, processing, workflow, sharing and dissemination all in one easy to use flexible and secure suite of modules.
